Hi,

I've recompiled glQuake so now you can play glQuake with any card that
supports openGL. Try running "timedemo demo1", I get 91 fps with my 466 cel
tnt1. What do you get?
Get it from:

Nice one :O)

win98SE
Amd Athlon 850 Mhz
128 Meg of generic PC 100 ram
G2 Nvidia MX card
Detonator 6.35 drivers
Via 424a 4 in 1 package installed
AGP 2X

640x480 32 bit 144 fps timedemo demo1
640x480 16 bit 194 fps timedemo demo1
PS
Do you know if there is a gamma command for GL Quake like there is for
glide.I use a bat file to launch for glide with this command,
SET SSTV2_GAMMA=2.3
If I use IDgamma it causes a,"Headlight"effect and also creates a .pak
file which I don't want.

TIA

Erm, that was a wasted effort then seeing as the GLQuake that ID made
works with any card that supports OpenGL :/

Uh, you always could play glQuake on any OpenGL card - you just had to
delete the 3dfx-specific dll, IIRC...

Perhaps you optimized it somehow in this recomilation?!...

640x480x16= 236.5 fps (demo1)

only takes 4.1 seconds to run the whole demo! Far cry from my old P100 w/ a
Diamond Monster Voodoo1 card. I think that was less than 30 fps back then.
ah the good ol' days, when you could log in at any time of the day on any
server and play some Quake1 CTF or DM (sniffle) now it's all but gone...it's
that damn Counterstrike's fault; just ain't the same.
