Hey ..
The console command is

r_wateralpha &

Where & is a number in the range 0-1.
By default it's set to 1.
0 would be completely see through, I think that 0.3 works best although
some levels tend to look nasty if not properly re-rendered.
Best Regards,
Jason.

There is a Util out that will change the Vis info for transparent water,
so that you no longer need the r_novis 1 command. It works very well and
can be used on any BSP (the originals, CTF, etc) And you hardly lose
anything in the way of preformance.......
it's called water...and i think you can find it at Blues....

The command r_wateralpha X is the one that changes the transpanracy of
the water, but almost all quake levels were written before this command
was though of, and so areas through water are not vis'ed. This is why
you need the r_novis 1 command, to turn off vis. However, unless you
have a PPro 200 this slows the game down so much it is unplayable. You
will have to wait until people release levels that have been vis'ed for
glquake.

Talking of this, has anyone found any good levels (single player or dm)
that takes advantage of this function? If anyone has done any I'd love
to know where to get them.

Cheers,

Naff.
