I think the list has been canceled but a new one is supposed to be up soon
(if not already.) Please e-mail me when YOU find out how to re-subscribe.
Thanks

The list has been restarted on premier.net. Send a message with the single
word "info" in the body to <quake-serv...@premier.net> for more
information.

But several users of this mailing list have asked for a newsgroup, which
would allow more people to participate in the discussions. I proposed the
creation of rec.games.computer.quake.servers and you can vote for it NOW.
This is an official Usenet vote and I encourage you to e-mail your vote to
the votetaker as soon as possible (the vote will close on the 9th of May).

You can get a copy of the Call For Votes (CFV) in several newsgroups,
including rec.games.computer.quake.announce and news.announce.newgroups.
If the article has expired at your site, you can get the CFV from ftp.uu.net,
in the directory /usenet/news.announce.newgroups/rec/. The full URL is:

ftp://ftp.uu.net/usenet/news.announce.newgroups/rec.games.computer.quake.playing

If you are interested in Quake servers, I encourage you to vote for
rec.games.computer.quake.servers. Read the CFV if you want to know more
about it.

There is a Quake servers mailing list, but it is intended for people
interested in setting up a server, not playing on one. There is also
a vote (just started) for a rec.games.computer.quake.servers newsgroup,
along with r.g.c.q.playing . This newsgroup has the same purpose (setup
and maintenance of Quake servers), but if you're interested, I encourage
you to read the posting "CFV: rec.games.computer.quake.{playing,servers}"
in these newsgroups or news.announce.newgroups, and vote for them.
