Hi all,

Doomworld, the all-new definitive source for Doom news, information, and
development, has opened up shop at http://www.doomworld.com.

Based solely on the worship and preservation on id Software's greatest
masterpiece, Doomworld aims to be THE internet site on which to find
anything and everything Doom-related.

Doomworld will feature daily up-to-the-minute news, as well as reviews,
previews, interviews, and articles which all revolve around the mother
of
all 3D shooters.

Also included on the site is a comprehensive listing of all current Doom
source code ports which have been attempted or completed, ranging from
Amiga to Windows NT to OS/2. Another extremely useful resource is Fancy
Pants, a strangely named page with a very noble purpose. On Fancy
Pants,
one can find a listing of current Doom projects, as well as Doom
designers
who are ready and willing to help out. Anybody who wants to either
start
or join a Doom partial conversion, a total conversion, or a simple level
add-on is encouraged to start here.

Other resources coming soon on Doomworld include the Doomopedia, a sort
of
"Encyclopedia Infernica," which will offer extensive information on any
and
every Doom-related topic. Another hopeful feature is a Doom music
section
which will offer extremely high-quality MPEG audio files of the
incredible
Doom soundtrack.

Doomworld also offers web space to any Doom web sites or projects who
want
to become a part of our growing empire. Hosted sites will receive
virtually unlimited web space, as well as doomworld.com email addresses,
and help and feedback from the Doomworld moderators themselves.

Doomworld is run by site moderator Linguica (ling...@doomworld.com),
daily
news man Covaro (cov...@doomworld.com), oddjob man Dukrous
(duk...@doomworld.com), FancyPants maintainer and bandwidth kaiser
Mordeth (mor...@doomworld.com), and roving reporter RicRob
(ric...@doomworld.com). All members of the core Doomworld team have
been
active in the Doom community for months or years.

Doomworld is the latest member of the ever-growing Telefragged empire.
Sister sites include BSP Headquarters (http://www.bsphq.com), the most
popular map editor for Quake, Quake 2 and Hexen 2; Inside 3D
(http://www.inside3d.com), your one stop for programming for any and all
games; Jedi Nights (http://www.jedinights.com), the one stop shop for
Jedi
Knight news and information; and RitNews (http://www.ritnews.com), the
epicenter of all that is and comes from Ritual Entertainment.

Damn I love beef. Let's have more beef in doom eh? Why not? :) They
say you'll go mad but I think that's just crazy talk. :)
