Hmm.. I know someone who has ran it with a 386.. it was a little slow, but
worked fine.. I have a 486 with 4mb of ram, and it's perfect.. It is
quite fast, and works great..

Ok here is what I have seen. a lowly 386sx-25 running it but It had a Math
Co processor. while a 386DX 40 would not run it. It would freeze when
trying to load it...( the sx has 4 megs of ram and the dx has 8) I have a
486sx with 8 and it works.... you may want to try one of the many 387
emulators........
Good Luck!

Could you please elaborate on your 387 emulators idea. I have the same
problem with Heretic. I have a 386DX 40 with 8 meg and without a math
co-processor. When Heretic is loading the graphics (you know, the first time
you run it) it crashes completely. I'd really like to get this working since
it seems like a good game. From what I've played, I think I like it as much
as Doom/II. Thanks.
Try running it with HERETIC -DEBUG

P.S. Heretic on a 386-40 with 8MB RAM and ATI video... not too shabby at
all.
and on my lowly 386-40 w/4 megs it ran fine. Quite playable. No co-pro
