I have temporarily put an updated version of the unofficial
Quake specs on my page:

http://www.ens.fr/~montanuy

Authorisation to publish this has been granted by John Romero,
because it's completely outdated. But it *does* give a general idea
of what Quake levels will/could be like, since it was actually valid
at one stage in the development of Quake.

------------------

This spec gives some details on the organisation of Quake levels
and Quake entity models.
It is my hope that this document contains enough information so that
makers of Quake level editors can actually start some planning, so that
we don't have to wait 6 months before an easy to use editor is out.

Anyway that should be enough to convince you that Quake will be awesome,
though it details none of the particularities of the Quake game play.

------------------

Note: this spec was made possible only because some cool guys helped me
*a lot*. I would have done absolutely nothing without them. But even
with their help it wasn't an easy task at all. Hope you enjoy the result.
