Attention: new doom episode from id

Attention all fellow doom players: ID is coming out with a brand new
Doom. It is titled "Thy Flesh Consumed." I am very grateful but also
very surprised. ID had made it very clear a while ago that they are
working on Quake, and v.1.9 of Doom and Doom 2 was it. I have no idea
when it will come out on share ware but it will be out. I heard this
from Netscape just yesterday. Today is 4/6/95. Happy Dooming!

Since there isn't a newgroup for the new game, I guess we will have to

I guess Rogue Entertainment has made an agreement with id to use the
excellent Doom engine in a new game they are releasing, called STRIFE.

Game is due out this Fall, looks pretty cool. At least it will be a true
competitor to Doom, unlike all the other cheap imitations, ahem, rott!
I imagine the new episode, Thy Flesh Consumed, was created the same way
the new 20 to 30 levels contained in The Master Levels... from outside
sources. SOOOO, don't worry, I am sure they are busting on Quake. I
talked with Kee Kimbrell of Dwango, and he said that he and Romero are
hard at work at getting Quake to run on Dwango as soon as it is released,
SOOOO, that tells me they are farther along then they are willing to
admit.
