I know we've put this off to the last minute, but my wife and I were going to
vote this week for EB, and discoved that our chess life issues are missing
ballots. One was adress to my daughter instead of me (she's a scolastic
member), so I presume that's why that one is missing the ballot. The other was
out club affiliate's copy.

Is there anywhere I can get a ballot or some other way I can vote? Please
email me with suggestions. Thanks.

I suggest you use the Kid Don Squeaky Wheel method and call New Windsor
and bitch and moan as loudly as possible until they relent and break
whatever rules are necessary to insure you get to vote.

Seriously, what type of membership did you and your wife purchase? If
you purchased Family memberships, you don't get to vote unless you
requested a ballot about a month or more ago.

Don M. of Florida just posted a lengthy diatribe on this matter to this
forum a couple weeks ago. He circumvented the rules, by upping his
membership at the last minute and asking USCF to rush him a ballot which
they were more than happy to do, being that Don is a big supporter of
Don Schultz and the McCrary board. They were more than happy to do
things for him that people that those in power don't like would probably
never be given consideration.

Good luck, and hopefully you'll get a chance to vote for someone, even
though there are probably many others like you who won't.

Best Regards,

Bruce

Greg,

I'm sorry, the USCF printed only one extra ballot. It has already been
mailed to Don Mihokovich, a Florida lawyer who missed the voting deadline
but was quickly accommodated due to his public endorsement of the
establishment candidates.

USCF politics has never been better.

If you are an Adult Regular member, you should have been provided a
ballot. ANYONE who upgraded to Adult Regular and asked for a ballot
prior to July 1st, as I did, would have been provided a ballot by the
Secretary.

No rules were circumvented. I became an Adult Regular member in plenty
of time to obtain a ballot within the rules. Anyone else who had done
so prior to July 1 would have also been provided a ballot. If I had not
been provided a ballot, the rules would have been circumvented. I
consider myself a reasonably intelligent person. If I were trying to
circumvent something, I wouln't have done it so publicly.

You say no rules were circumvented. Isn't that because you were given a ballot
without the virtue of any rule.

Could you tell us where the rule allowing the USCF Secretary to allow you a
late ballot is written?
This is another example of why we don't trust Red Management.

Recall this same Florida lawyer said he was NOT a chess politician,
but has done nothing but campaign since arriving here.

Agreed.

Here is what I found:

"I'm only here (in chess 'politics') temporarily. I have
no personal, long term goals in chess politics." - Don
Mihokovich (29 Apr 2003 14:14:40 -0700)

I could not help noticing that Don Schultz is now using the nom de plume
"merlot".

If memory serves me, Don said he always uses his own name, yet I remember
recent posts by "merlot" in which there was no signature.

Indeed, another party altogether has also used this screen name.

No "late ballot" was given. A ballot was provided on a timely basis
for at least one Voting Member to cast a vote long before the
deadline.

Perhaps you use the word differently than I do, but to me, one can be

Are we playing word games?

Can you name another person who received a ballot under your circumstances?

Are you telling us that you think Tom Dorsch would have gotten the same
treatment from Bob (the Schultz Endorser) Smith?

You Florida people.
Instead of hanging chads, I can think of others who should be hanged :-P
