If you take out Sam Sloan's Wikipedia reports, Larry Parr's non sequiturs,
Ray Gordon's hallucinations, and the fake posters almost nothing of
substance remains in this newsgroup. The acrimony of the Goichberg-Marinello
bashers poisoned this newsgroup, but it staggered along for a while. What
killed it was the brain dead idiots who insist on posting 54 times a day
under aliases or fake identities.

How times change.
Goichberg and Marinello are now blow buddies, voting as a bloc against
the rest of the board. The votes are now all 3-2 with Tanner the swing
vote.
Angelo still has not responded to my latest offer about a Damiano
Defense match. Perhaps he has not read my latest posting, buried as it
is below a hundred others. The sticking point is finding an arbiter
willing to broadcast the games on ICC. I am not sure we will be able to
find one.

If you want to rehabilitate the really good stuff, I am prepared to
discuss the Mensa model for chess as it would apply to a national
federation. We won't have a really good federation until we have one
built somewhat along the lines of Mensa's structure.
