There were 462 games in all. That huge number made me think of New
York 1889, another double round all-play-all, which had 20 players;
there were 430 games in all. (Drawn games from the second cycle had to
be replayed.) It lasted from 25th March 1889 to the 18th May 1889.
Despite the huge difference in time-limits, I would bet that there
were fewer egregious errors in the 2009 Blitz WC than at NY 1889.
