This is of course a kind of book fault. 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 has a good
statistic in favour of white. I suggest 2...Nf6.
BTW were there only played 2 games?
Harald Faber
Hi Harald,
Depends on who played the games.
Matthias Wahls, a German GM, has scored extremely well with the
Skandinavian mainline(s). His book on the opening suggests that it is
fully playable. Would be interesting to know if and how far the
opening books of both opponents followed his recommendations.
Of course 2...Nf6 is interesting as well.

Here we have 2 computers playing...

I'd bet that 4.g3 is out of book at least for black, this is not the main
variation. Maybe it transposes after 8.d4 but it seems to be a seldom
variation.
And I'd also bet that computers in general have problems playing black in
this scandinavian, like they have in the KI and french defence.
They are also good openings, but not for computers.
> Of course 2...Nf6 is interesting as well.
I know. Our best player in the club and our 2nd best player play
scandinavian with black, one 2...Nf6, the other one 2...Qxd5, both have
good results. :-)
