I just got Fritiz and may be missing the boat here but:

1. I liked the CBLight feature whereby you copied to the Windows
clipboard a PGN and then simply pasted it into a board in CBLight --
it was a quick and dirty way of checking a position you saw online,
etc.

What's the easiest way to do the same thing in Fritz?

2. I want to be able to enter a game in Fritz while comparing the
early stages to Frtiz's book. It seems I can have Fritz display
possible book moves if we're playing, but of course I have to keep
stopping Fritx from actually making a move. Or I can go into Watch
mode and freely make moves for both sides, but no book is used or
displayed.

3. Talk: I copied the talk dirs (chatter and eco) to my hard drive,
copied talk.cht and ecosnd.cht to the directory of which chatter and
eco are subdirs, removed read-only on the *.cht files, pointed Fritc
to talk.cht.

However, Fritz doesn't talk (except when I Test), and I've never
heard him use the ecosnd .wav files. AM I missing something?

Thanks for any feedback. Needless to say, Fritz is way cool....

You can't.

Go to the game menu and uncheck "Play against Fritz". Then the program
won't respond when you make a move.

Go to Setup/Generla config and make sure there's a check in the boxes
next to "Talk" and "Sound". Also click the "Find TALK.CHT" button and
make sure there is no check in the box next to "Shut up".

A way around that can be to import the pgn in a database from Fritz. Open
the database, right click the mouse and choose import games. Then click on
the pgn you downloaded on your hard disk.
Maybe not so fast, but works as well.

Thanks. I was afraid that was the best alternative. I'll get used to
it....

Sigh.

Thanks. I missed it....

Done,. Done. I *do* get some chatter, I guess... just *nothing* from
ecosnd.
