One question: How's Timman playing so many games so quickly? Is this
two games per day? More? IE he's already played 6, and what does
*-* mean? IE timman vs kallisto and timman vs hiarcs? At first I
thought this meant "game in progress" but now I'm not sure?
(of course Anand has also played 6 games it seems...)

clarify, please? :)

That explains a lot. This was a "simul" by the GM's against a
selected group of the programs? I could not figure out from an
earlier post how one GM could play 6 games in 1 day. :)

This is from the simultaneous match with Anand and Timman that was
used to open the tournament. It is not part of the match. Each played
6 programs simultaneously, with Genius being the only program to win
both.

What do folk think of Anand's blunder against Genius, after getting
himself into a good position... and did he need to resign?

Even here, wasn't 31. Rxg7 well worth a try?! Perhaps he gave up in
disgust with himself? Deen Hergott, all is forgiven! (:-)

Hello!
The games were simultan games (I forgot to mention...)) and the *-*
means, when I interpret AEGON
correctly, 1/2-1/2. I only copied the results from the
AEGON-pages, because of the fact that Anand (which is IMHO one of the
best blitz-player in the world) is loosing game(s)... ;-)

Frank

Early resignation in a clock simul could be seen as a "strategy".
Perhaps he wanted to concentrate on his other games.
