HELP!: Playing Chess Online through an AOL account

Anyone willing to help:

I am accustomed to using a local ISP (Internet Service Provider) to
access the various chess servers (FICS,ICC) using SLICS in Windows.

Can this also be done (via SLICSs) through an AOL account? If so, simply
stated, what is the process to make it work?

Can Roman Dz's chess.net be accessed through AOL with Roboman as the
client? If so, what is that process?

Got to keyword "winsock" on AOL. You will find any files and instruction that
you need there. I used to use the AOL winsock with FICS, so it does work. As
for roboman, I think it requires the win95 winsock to opperate. However, if
there is a win3.1 version (and I don't think there is) you may be able to get
it to work with the AOL winsock.

Here's what you do: First, make sure you have a copy of AOL's Winsock.dll
in the same directory as SLICS. Log into AOL, then Minimize (DO NOT
CLOSE!) the window. Then run SLICS. You CAN use SLICS on Roman's site,
you just won't have the Accuclock (their version of Timestamp/Timeseal).
Roboman (for Win95 only) has AC built-in.

One thing you will have to be aware of is AO-Hell has implemented a new
nag screen that pops up every 45 minutes you are online and basically says
"Click yes within 10 minutes or get bumped off". Another reason to tell
Steve Case where he can shove the whole service.
