Nowadays, I have got Fritz 6. Is it Fritz 8 stronger than Fritz 6?
Thanks in advance!
best regards,
Darek
Question is: Is Fritz six stronger than you?

It depends on position. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
So?

It is not funny!!!
If you don't know to help, don't answer in this stupid way!
Darek
Fritz 8 is the best program 4 the money
it claims a rating of 2701 , but in fact its about
2668 , Shredder 7.04 is 2699(but costs 2 much)
Chessmaster 9 k claims 2748
but its only 2550
the strongest of all is deep junior at 2748
but I think U need multiple computers 2 run it
Of course it is but that aint the point
U should play the strongest thing U can get ypur hands on , so U know your
tactics work on the best players
From where did you get those ratings???
Who or what did the programs play to obtain them (I haven't them before).
And the prices: Except for DF-programs, I always pay the same for
Shredder, Junior, Fritz and so on - bought at Chessbase, that is.
I thought I knew a little, but it seems I'm completely wrong!
(I suppose you mean multiprocessor?!)
BTW: Yes, Fritz 8 is overall stronger than F6 - no doubt.
HD
Then you would do well to play fritz 8. However, Fritz 6 could beat 99% of
the strong players in the world, so constantly upgrading to a stronger
engine just for the sake of claiming to own the strongest engine is rather
silly.
If you wish to use it for analysis, that is a different question. If you
want an engine that plays more human-like chess, that is a different
question.
I was laughing my ass off, so it was funny.

The answer seemed to be precisely tailored to the level of the question.
I am not sure you would be able to tell what would work on the strongest
players by noting any differences in your play with either fritz 6 or 8
unless you could beat both with regularity at its strongest setting. The
bleeding edge in this case is far beyond the needs of even A players.
Some website dont remember the name of it
I was looking to buy a tabletop
chess computer , especially Novaq Star diamond , but it cost 2 much money 4
me
+ this website had all these ratings it was clamining 4 various tabletops +
software
all of the were well below the ratings claimined , most by 200-300 points
Maybe they R full of shit I dont know
But I set the chessmaster 9k at
1600 , I draw it , I am about equall 2 it set at
1600-1700 , I dont think Im that strong
US chess fed rated me at 1300
8 years ago , mayB I inproved
I dont know , I also only give it 15 minutes
to make all its moves(and me as well) , + I dont think any of those chess
tabletops or software can run full strength with such time limits
can they ?
arent U supposed 2 give em 3 minutes a move
? My 15 minute game 4 each side thats about
only 20 seconds a move'
But I cant focus 4 any longer then that
cause of short attention span
So if I only give the damn thing 20 seconds a move when it should have 3
minutes a move
I must B cutting its strength by at least 600 points correct ?
So if I am playing CM 9 K + I set it at
1600 , but only give it 20 seconds per move when it should have 3 minutes
then I probably am only really playing a
opponent of 1000 cause of the time limit
correct ?(keep in mind I set the same time limit on myself)
Now 4 fun I often play the Stanley personality
which is a monkey rated at 1
I dont really think a monkey could play chess
could it ?

U probably know more then me
your ratings probably higher then mine
I suck at chess even though I like it
I think Im only 1250-1300 myself
my problem is I make lots of stupid blunders
I will be playing fine , then I do some dumbass thing like throw a knight away
4 nothing
or let my king get in 2 trouble
I disagree how else R U supposed 2 become the best unless U play the best ?

Humans play nasty , in the chess club the B and A players would kick my ass
mostly because of pawns, they were much more aggressive with their pawns then I
was
even seemed more aggresive w/pawns then
the computers
I would be playing fine then get fucked up by
enemy pawns + have 2 resign
I play fine w/all the rest of the pieces
except pawns + knights(both of which I hate)
I especially hate knights , I hate the way they move , and I try to exchange
them off as early in the game as possible , often willing 2 trade
my bishops 4 enemy knights , just 2 get rid of em, Im not supposed 2 do that
cause Bishops R worth slightly more then knights
especially 2 bishops together
I am ecstatic if I can trade my knights 4 enemy knights early in the game , and
thus get em all off the board early in the game

I think it was Tartakover who said "Chess is easy. Just play your knight
to e5, and eventually sacrifice it on f7 to win".
Have youtried that?
