I've tried the Apple build of GnuChess under MacOS X. It seems a bit buggy.

What other Chess playing apps are available for the Macintosh, specifically
OS X?

Hello,
I am currently running Sigma Chess under MacOS 9.2 (under MacOS X), which is
the best free Mac software I have been able to find. They are beta testing
the X version and it should (hopefully!) be out soon. It is a nice program,
plays well, nice interface (sort of like Fritz) and good features. I do wish
it ran under MacOS X , though. If you want to try it, it is available at
www.sigmachess.com.
