Titan - Badlands?

Can anyone give a description of the variant Battlelands, called Badlands,
which was in an issue of The General? I would expect from the name that
those lands provided more drastic modifiers for natives/non-natives, or
simply had more hexes with terrain than the standard ones. Is that so?

Some of the varient battlelands were a bit extreme in design. The suggestion
of rolling for which terrain to use for each battle can introduce a
lot more variance in the outcomes of battles.

The "badlands" were about 12 variant maps for the General. There was one for
each type of terrain except tower & plains, but they added 2 new lands for
plains--Lake and town. Both lands have water--which cannot be entered by
non-fliers and fliers cannot end their movement there. The lake had 3 hexes
in the center for the lake. The Town has a 1 water hex, 1 walled hex, and (I
think) onr forest hex. The variant maps for the other terrain tended to have
more of the special terrain features than the standard maps.

The rules for incorporating them was prior to the start of the battle, simply
roll a die to see whether the original or new map was used.

In general, they offer more defensible terrain. IMHO, this is a Bad Thing,

since it discourages attacking, making for longer, more boring games.
