GMT Games to Produce Ted Raicer's Paths of Glory

Hanford, CA. February 23, 1999. GMT Games, a premier producer of historical
boardgames, announced today that it has acquired the rights to produce
award-winning game designer Ted Raicer's newest creation, Paths of Glory: The
First World War (PoG).

Paths of Glory: The First World War is a two-player wargame depicting the
dramatic events of the 20th Century's first "total war" in both the European
and Near East theaters from the summer of 1914 to the winter of 1918-19. One
player represents the Central Powers and the other the Allied and Associated
Powers.

Designed by 6-time Charles S. Roberts award-winner Ted S. Raicer, PoG uses a
variation on the card-driven strategic systems pioneered by Mark Herman in The
Avalon Hill Game Company's (TAHGC) We the People. (Unlike previous games in the
series however, PoG is also highly suited to solo play.) Originally slated to
be an Avalon Hill game release, PoG was recently reacquired by Raicer in the
aftermath of last fall's Hasbro purchase of TAHGC. Several game companies had
sought to obtain the rights to publish this eagerly anticipated title.
According to Raicer, GMT was the best fit.

According to Billingsley, PoG will go immediately to GMT's Project 500 (P500)
production list. Graphics are already being created for the game. The
anticipated ship date is May 15, 1999. Billingsley stated, "With Rodger
MacGowan and Mark Simonitch creating the graphics for PoG, we intend to provide
fans of the games series with a visual package both pleasing to the eye and
functional for the player; a fitting complement to the elegance of Ted's
design."

PoG will be on GMT's Project 500 page, here are quickie details:
Retail Price: $50
P500 Price until March 31: $35
Credit Cards charging on March 31 and price will go to $42 until May 15.
Game ships on May 15 and price goes to $50.
