As some boardgame enthusiasts have an interest in dice, I thought I
would post a message about a recently published book titled 'Face to
Face with Dice: 5000 Years of Dice and Dicing'. I apologise in advance
if this post is OT.

'Face to Face with Dice' is the only book in English on dice per se,
as opposed to books on dice games and gambling. It is illustrated with
black & white as well as colour pictures, and is packed full of
interesting information with chapters on:

* the history of dice
* the different kinds of dice
* cheating with dice,
* variations in six-sided dice
* museums around the world with dice exhibits
* the use & production of dice in different countries.

If you have any interest at all in dice, you should get your hands on
a copy. You can order it directly from the publishers in the
Netherlands. It's only about US $20 including airmail shipping to the
US
(or anywhere else outside of the Netherlands) which is incredibly good
value. The URL for the book is:

http://order.gopherpublishers.com/book.asp?P02=561&P01=1&A01=UK&G01=1

And the URL for the publishers is:

http://www.gopherpublishers.com

I do not profit financially from the sale of this book. The book is
jointly dedicated to me and I do know the author. But my endorsement
is purely disinterested. I would not give my support unless I
genuinely thought it was worth it. And it is.
