A&A Europe isn't out yet, supposedly sometime this spring.
Too bad you can't get these in the mainstream stores. I was looking
forward to pickup up something approaching a "gamers' game" at Target
or Wal-Mart.

"Stratego Legends" is has just been released after some delay. If you check
www.deja.com you can find past articles on it. I posted a review myself
last week. Other games have been given tentative release dates in the next
few months. I don't remember if "Axis and Allies Europe" was among them.
I do believe that Acquire was. The thing to keep in mind here is that
the dates could slip, so what dates you do find are not set in stone.
You do raise a good point about the website not containing any information.
Someone brought that up earlier this week and did my spouse. This is
really something that gaming companies should use to their greatest
potential. In the niche market of hobby gaming a good number of us are
internet savy and use it as an information tool.

As far as I know the Axis and Allies Europe game will be released
February 2000.
I got a picture of the Axis and Allies Europe map on my page:

Hasbro (MB, Avalon Hill) will also release Pacific/Asia version of Axis
and Allies. Probably in 2001.

Speaking of dates slipping, the web site is one of them. Rest assured that
work is being done on it (I can personally assure you of that) and the
"coming soon" message should be replaced by the real site sometime, uh, soon.

Since that notice has been up for over a year, we must be talking soon
in dog years, right? ;-)

Yeah, the absence of any mention of these major new products is a real
embarassment to a big company like Hasbro. I couldn't even find a press
release about them.
I'm not writing this to slam you personally, Rob. It sounds like the AH-
branded games just aren't receiving the marketing attention and resources
they need. This is not a recipe for success.
It sounds like someone higher up at Hasbro needs to be "educated" about the
importance of communicating with customers in this hobby games market. To
whom should I send such a message? Either email or postal mail is fine. Let
me know their address by private email if you don't want to post it on
rec.games.board.
