Yes, I know, technically Mille Bornes is a card game. Anyhow, though, does
anyone know of a good computer port of it? I know it comes with Milton Bradley
Card Games CD-ROM, but is there a shareware version?

In article <19990925090128...@ng-bd1.aol.com>,

Yes, I've played a good shareware single-player Mille Bornes for Windows 3.x.

No, I don't know where to find it. Web search.

I found it a month or so ago. I don't remember where either. It is for Windows
3.x. There is no newer version for Windows 95 or 98 or NT. Look for "Mile Bones".

There's a version in the bsd-games package:

http://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/games/bsd-games-2.7.tar.gz

(Linux version, probably easy to compile on any Unix at least)

There's a version for the Palm Pilot called Rally 1000. Very addictive,
actually.

Take a look at:
http://sources.isc.org/games/strategy

There is both a screen version called miles and an X version called xmille.

The version I played came with a unix distribution. It doesn't appear to be
the same source as used for miles, but probably is fairly similar.

Find any FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or NetBSD computer with games installed;
it's in /usr/games/mille .

It should not be too hard to compile on other Unix or Unix-like
computers, such as Linux.

Linux (at least the Slackware variety) also has /usr/games/mille.
However, it only plays solitaire (two-player games, one of which is the
computer).
