Many thanks to Kit Woolsey for the "all-time great roll," the position
and roll giving the largest gain in equity. I initially asked only
about equity changes (not realizing that more possibilities exist for
large gains than large losses). I still remain curious about the
mirror situation, the all-time disaster roll that leads to the largest
equity loss. Any suggestions?

According to JF 7, O's equity before rolling is 1.508. After rolling a
44, X's equity is 1.226, for a swing of 2.734 on one roll.

Not sure this is best, but it's a big swing.
