Just a general warning to everyone NOT to purchase a backgammon set from the
Michelli Backgammon website (http://www.michellibackgammon.com/).

I live in Australia and ordered one on the 18th of October. I am yet to
receive it and don't think I ever will. Frank Michelli replied that I would
receive it within 2 weeks when I queried why the delay. He has not been
answering my emails. I even called and left a message on his answering
machine, but no reply. Frank Michelli is a cheat a thief a nd a liar.

Sounds odd, but maybe just bad timing to reach him. American holiday this
week many people take a few days off. I didn't see any reports at the better
business bureau against his company.

Possibly it was lost by the shipping/postal service? Which company did you
ship it through? Did you have it insured? I'd ask Franco for a tracking
number as well.

I know of others who have bought from Franco and they didn't mention
problems. I hope you get your purchase!

You dont get it -- what Tony needs is a tracking number to trace Frank
not the shipment.

I'd also check with your local Australian Customs and Excise house. An
import customs charge on goods over the value of AU$500 is chargable.
If you purchased the Villa Set (US$549.99) this should apply. If you
purchased the Vagabond, Nomad or Chateau Set this shouldn't apply but
how are the Australian Customs men supposed to know that? So your
board might be sitting in their office waiting for you to contact them
(which in my experience of recently shipping a board to Australia was
the case.)

im sorry you are having problems, my wife gave me a michelli board for
my birthday and it arrived promptly as promised. ive since had a few
follow up questions for frank and he has always gotten back to me
within a few days. i can only imagine you are having issues because
of some sort of customs glitch.

It's OK. Frank finally got back to me. He's been having chemotherapy in
hospital and he had some complications and that was the reason for the
delay. I take back what I said about him.

Maybe the next time you call someone a thief, cheat and liar you will
remember this episode. For all you knew, he was dead.

Rich, I have been scammed before on the internet and I was getting annoyed
thinking it was happening again. I apologise for what I said.

Tony, did you ever get your backgammon board? My wife gave me a Villa
set for Christmas, but they sent the wrong color. I've been trying
for 2 weeks to arrange an exchange for the proper color, with only one
response last Friday that they would get back to me this last Monday
(the 4th). Multiple e-mail messages and phone calls since then have
gone unanswered. GRR!!!

If Frank is having health problems I feel sorry for him and his
family. However, he has mentioned in other e-mails to me about having
a warehouse with several employees. I wouldn't imagine that leather
backgammon boards is a large business, but you would think there would
be other employees who could handle a simple merchandise exchange.

If anyone else has any recent experience to share, please do so.
