Whether eXtreme Garbage was playing poorly against Grondo, because it
was a cracked version has never been confirmed, but now I have a
similar doubt about gnubg.

After downloading the latest (April 8) release, I started playing a
series of 25 point matches against its grandmaster level and after
close to 50 matches I am winning 38%...

In disbelief, I checked the settings again and again. Player and
analysis settings are the same, 3-ply, with pruning, cubeful checker
evaluation, zero noise, large move filter.

Is there a bug with this release? Or maybe I downloaded a cracked
version of gnubg...? :))

What are you not believing? Is 38% higher or lower than what you were
expecting? Based on your previous boasts in this newsgroup, it would
seem that you're accustomed to beating GNU easily by predicting its
dice correctly. Are you now suspecting that someone cracked the
random number generator so that you can't predict the dice any more,
and that's why you're losing so badly?

I can't tell. That's why I'm asking you... ;)

I picked 38% in trying to measure up to your accomplishment... :)

Previously, I was lying. Now, I'm telling the truth.

Can anyone aside from cocksucking math phd's address the real question here...?

Update after 50 cubeful matches of 25 points: 14 to 36.

38.888% What an eerie coincidence... But I intend to play 100 matches and surely things will change.

I am also keeping my own kind of statistics, which I consider meaningful even if not meaningful to others.

Stay tuned...
