Adding:
Cubs -1.5 runs +115 vs Padres (Intertops) -- Cubs have a great
offense that is especially great against lefty pitching (over 7 runs
per game when a lefty starts; over 12 runs per game in the 3 games
they have faced a lefty at Wrigley; and tonight it appears the wind is
blowing out bigtime!). Shawn Estes is an aging old mediocre lefty
making his first start in over two years as he has recovered from
major injuries; the last 4+ years he pitched before getting hurt his
ERA was well over 5. He last put up an ERA better than the league
average in 1997. That was the ONLY year in a 15 year career that he
put up a WHIP under 1.43 with any significant # of innings. So a team
that absolutely kills lefties, especially at their home ballpark which
has been a haven for righthanded power hitters for 9 decades, with the
wind blowing out, against a lefty who has never been all that good
except for one good year during the Clinton administration, and who
has been out for two years with major injuries...a recipe for some
serious Cub scoring. The opposing Padres are the weakest offense in
the NL, who have scored more than 4 runs only 8 times in the last 31
games. Recipe for a mismatch.
Pirates/Cardinals over 9 -110 (Intertops) -- Two poor starting
pitchers, and Lohse has been pounded recently. Dumatrait has averaged
just over 3 innings per start in his short, undistinguished career,
only completing the 5th twice in 8 starts, only completing the 6th
once. So you can expect lots of that Pirate bullpen, which is not
particularly good, tonight.
White Sox +115 vs Angels (SIA)
Ignore the other response, I was having posting problems, it was
intended for my personal thread.
