OT: Sorry about the 'Kyle T Jones' Post

pretend that I was Kyle T Jones and post as him. He has not been seen for
months, so I figured it would be easy to get away with it. But then my
conscience started bothering me. I, Paul Popinjay, have a reputation to
uphold on RGP, one of truth, honesty, and integrity. I realize that
reputation could be compromised if I were to attempt to pass myself off as
some other poster. For that, I am deeply sorry.
But you have to admit, the part about how I "accidentally" posted here when
I meant to post to some un-named newsgroup, uhh, about credit cards for
cryin outloud, I know it was weak, but at the time it seemed like a good
idea.
I ask you to find room in your heart to one day believe in me again.

I wrote my own Usenet client, it lets me frog
folks flawlessly, auto-crosspost say, your last
100 posts to Teh Worst Newsgroup On Earth
(involves Pro Wrestling), append messages to your
last 100 (or 1000, or whatever) posts, post as
whoever, etc.
But, seriously - notice the headers. Identical to
yours. If you had a sig, it would have automatically
copied that as well.
For those who bother to check, the difference between
this (nearly impossible to spot) and, say, dapickle
imposter (still going on?) is the difference between
night and day.
Of course, I would never use this method -
frogging folks is the ultimate in poor form -
just wrote it to see if it was possible, more
than anything else.

That's pretty interesting. I've never seen this done so well. And if I
look at this thread on google, this post comes up twice, but in my
newsreader, it comes up once. Plus you got the time right also. You see?
This is what I've said all along. You cannot possibly be the same guy as
KTConstanjuror88 or IHeartWuzzy. First of all, you are smarter than he is.
Second of all, you are polite and considerate, and
KTConstanjuror88/IHeartWuzzy is rude and obnoxious. And third of all,
KTConstanjuror/IHeartWuzzy is a dope.
So if I am wrong, let IHeartWuzzy prove it now by suddenly APPEARING! And,
in case you didn't notice, James H. was asking about him the other day, I
think it had something to do with some sports-related crap.

Thanks Paul - you'll see that I've frogged a message from Beldin
upthread (message contents: "Howdy") - his headers are fairly similar to
your own, but he apparently uses Avast to scan for viral infection - and
his headers reflect that. As does the spoofed message.
It's all automated - sucks up the "targets" headers, then I compose a
post and indicate where it should go via message id.
However, having some personal experience with newsgroups that have
basically died because of rampant socks and frogs, I'll keep the actual
methodology under wraps.
Hope all goes well for you. I've shamelessly stolen your "bits" more
often than anyone else on Usenet. That stuff is gold, Paul! Gold!
