about three hours, if you've got a hundred players or so -- can run as
long as four.
John Harkness
if you intend to win, it will take about 3.5 hours.
Omaha 8 (and to a lesser degree, stud8) tends to take a little longer, maybe 4
hours.
NL holdem can be a little quicker, but rarely shorter than 3 hours.
these numbers are for average tournaments, with average fields participating, as
you indicated.
their tournament structures are set up very well, i think, for someone who wants
to play in a good fast tournament that still has considerable play to it.

Ever see any one enter that did not intend (hope) to win
...and even if you lose, it's 2.5 hours playing time, with another hour
spent whining about the suckouts.

Constantly.

DON'T LOse all ur wages in 1 hand a couple of hands at least
IF u intend to win you gota play tight with jacks or better u gota
think of it as a war u can't lose whatso ever
Since online is so much faster, doesn't this match up pretty good with a b+m
tournament?I like the starts format, well balanced I think.
I have never played a b+m tourny,but they last about 8 hours or so,correct?
I just don't know how my ass is gonna take it.Gotta start some glute execises.
On second thought I think my back will be more of a problem.
Longest sitting and playing poker in a cardroom about 6 and a half hours.

Depends on the size and style of the B+M tournament, of course -- I
played an unlimited rebuy 20 + 10 NLHE tournament at the Orleans with
144 players and it lasted 7 1/2 hours with breaks.
Figure PokerStars software to be roughly twice as fast as playing B+M

Push your chair back and play standing up for a while. Works for me,
anyway.

Thanks John,
But since I've never seen anyone stand and play,Is this allowed at most rooms, and
doesn't anyone object?I would think standing would be a psychological advantage.
I usually have to get up and walk or stretch because of back problems.

I was actually referring to online tournaments.
