Benny Behnen could be in big trouble again for beating up YET another
woman at Pieros:

An altercation involving Sandy Murphy and Benny Behnen, grandson of
Horseshoe founder Benny Binion, erupted at Piero's Italian Cuisine late
Monday.
By the time two unidentified NBA coaches broke up the melee, Murphy had
a clump of hair ripped from her scalp as she was trying to escape her
assailant.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m., the night before Murphy appeared in
District Court seeking to gain possession of part of the estate of the
late Ted Binion, Behnen's uncle and the man Murphy was accused of
killing in 1998.
An eyewitness said words were exchanged when Murphy's party and Behnen's
group were seated at nearby tables in Piero's most popular bar area.
When scuffling broke out, Murphy moved away from the trouble and was
near the kitchen exit when she was cornered by a young man.
"Sandy wanted to get out of there," said her attorney, Herb Sachs.
"Behnen saw her, targeted her, and punched her, kicked her and grabbed
her hair."
Fred Glusman, owner of Piero's, confirmed that Murphy and Behnen were
involved in the melee, which occurred in the area where scenes from the
movie "Casino" were filmed.
"Sandy got hit. Don't know who hit her, it all happened so fast," said
Glusman, who was not at the eatery at the time.
"Three fights broke out. It was like old wild, wild West," added
Glusman. "Some NBA coaches broke it up,"
When police arrived, "it was all over," Glusman said.
Behnen could not be reached for comment. Murphy, reached by phone in
Laguna Beach, Calif., on Wednesday, had no comment.
Murphy, a former stripper, and her one-time lover, Rick Tabish, were
charged in 1999 with drugging and killing Ted Binion in a plot to obtain
his $7 million in silver.
They were convicted in 2000 and sentenced to life in prison. Their
convictions were overturned by the state high court. Murphy and Tabish
were acquitted of murder after a second trial in 2004.
After Murphy's hearing Tuesday before Judge Elizabeth Halverson, Murphy
approached William Fuller, her 80-something benefactor who paid many of
her legal fees.
"She kissed him and said, 'Did you hear what happened?' " according to
Review-Journal reporter K.C. Howard. "Then she pulled a clump of hair
out of her purse and said, 'This is mine.' "
It's not the first time Behnen was involved in a battle at Piero's.
In August 2000, he was allegedly in a fight with high-stakes gambler Bob
Stupak over Stupak's attempt to cash some casino chips at Binion's
Horseshoe. Behnen's mother, Becky Behnen, operated the Horseshoe after
Ted Binion was barred from running it.
Piero's was the scene of a federal raid in 2005, when agents, one armed
with a submachine gun, stormed the tony restaurant and arrested retired
New York City cops Louis Eppolito and Steve Caracappa. They were jailed
in connection with the murder of Gambino and Bonanno crime family
associate Eddie Lino.

Charges must be brought against Benny Behnen
The LV Metro Police Department has the duty to arrest anyone who
brutally assaults a citizen in front of numerous witnesses. Clark County
District Attorney David Roger also has the duty to prosecute anyone who
police arrest for beating up a woman, especially in a public setting.
Just because Clark County District Attorney David Roger suffered the
humiliation of having his conviction of accused murderess Sandra Murphy
overturned by the Nevada Supreme Court and a subsequent jury, he now is
derelict in his duty by not immediately pursuing charges against Benny
Behnen, the grandson of Horseshoe founder the late Benny Binion, who on
Monday night attacked Murphy in Piero's Restaurant, causing her physical
injury.
It's Roger's job to protect the public against predator like Benny
Behnen who punched and kicked Murphy and pulled out a slug of her hair
in front of witnesses who positively identified Behnen to police who
opted not to arrest him.
If Murphy chose to not press charges, LV Metro Police and the D.A. have
that responsibility as they do in all assault and violence cases in
Clark County.
If you believe as I do that Metro PD and DA David Roger are ignoring
their responsibility because of sour grapes on the part of Roger, or
because the beating occurred in Freddy Glusman's politically connected
restaurant against a victim who once brought DA Roger great
embarrassment, then Benny Behnen should immediately be charged with a
crime and jailed in spite of Roger's ego, or political campaign
contributions he and the Sheriff received from Benny Behnen's family.

Something should be done. Nick Behnen has no power anymore, he lost
that when his incompetent running of the Horseshoe (using his wife and
idiot son Benny because he couldn't get a license due to his mob
associations)failed miserably and they sold out for millions less than
it was really worth had he he not bled it dry, including selling the
"Million Dollar Display" for 3x face value while the company that bought
the bills is now selling them for up to 6.5x the face value and breaking
up the only major collection of $10k bills known to yet exist in
circulation. Nicky has lost his juice. Benny belongs in Jail, and I
think it's gonna happen. Hope he gets soap on a rope

Uh. She was acquitted. So it's more like Bennys family causing
trouble for her, trying to get her convicted of a crime that nobody
could prove she committed.

People have been doing it to me for years.
I have no idea what "type" assualts women. I don't think there's any doubt that
Benny is a hot head with a sense of entitlement. I also think that has nothing
to do with the event in question.

You know how I feel about anonymous posters, too, but this
guy/gal/transgender DID at least "quote" an article from "Norm" the gossip
columnist from the R-J who said he SAW the incident, and the previous
incident with Stupaks kid was also reported in the press. I'm not saying it
should have been posted anonymously, but the citations of the stories are
included.

Had it ben a week ago Rick, I could have told you since I was there eating
dinner with him and his "group". I'm just saying he's not the type to get
physical with a woman in my knowledge or opinion. Not only that, but how does
anyone know she didn't "attack " him, forcing him to fend her off of him? I
don't know the story, and neither does Mr. Anonymous, I'm just saying that
perhaps we should find out the whole story before rushing to judgement. Wasn't
she found guilty of killing one of his family memebers? (perhaps later
reversed?).. I really don't know the story, but I do know "Benny" who is a
friend, and who wouldn't beat on women. So I just think that I'll wait to rush
to judgement, until I hear the actual story. That's all.

But that eyewitness is also a guy who makes his living exaggerating things, so I
doubt it was anything that was actually serious. The cops didn't seem to think
it was anything serious.
So I ignored the original post. I didn't think it was credible, no matter what
I might know about Benny and the kind of person he is.
But you, somebody who knows Benny well, seems to have thought the story was
credible enough to require a rebuttal. I wonder why that is?

What type? Is the the type that "respects" women and defers to them? That,
combined with hot-headed temperament and a sense of entitlement, is exactly the
type that is likely to assault a woman who doesn't show him the respect he
thinks he deserves.
