Netanyahu will probably tell Biden to mow the lawn before he leaves.
Freakin' funny to watch Americans arguing about what kind of foreign
policy the United States should have. Stop pretending you matter, stupid.

Not on Yahoo has always bothered me. I'd like to see that putz get by
without our help for once.

I dont know why we help israel anyway. What difference is there between a
kid in Africa and a kid in isreal ?

Nothing except the kid in isreal is taught from birth that God loves him
more than the kid in Africa.

If we pay for the racists pukes in isreal, they should do EXACTLY what
they are told.

The entitlement attitude is why Arabs keep blowing up isrealis.

Personally, i think we should offer to relocate the good Israelis and
Arabs to a desert somewhere else and let the rest kill each other.

Understanding the dirtbags of Isreal helps me see why arabs hate them so
much.

This time I agree w/ risky biz: The Israeli settlement policy is a
counter-productive idiocy. It's absolutely the worst thing they do and by
it they are making it harder and harder to come to a peace deal. It is
shortsighted and an indication that an obstructionist movement is in
charge of policy.

The policy makes it difficult for a person like me to defend Israel. I
can still do it on self defense grounds but I have been undermined in my
claim that the Palestinians can have a peace deal simply by asking for it
and am horribly disappointed by what's happening in this regard.

Israel has always been our strongest ally in the world, bar none.

They certainly are our best ally in the Middle East, if not the only
one.

Should we now throw them overboard because they piss off the Obama
Administration?

Do you really think the USA will gain anything from trying to appease
ruthless thugs like Hamas and Hezbollah?

President Clinton tried as hard as he could to bring Yasser Arafat to
a peace agreement with Israel.
You know what he got for that, don't you?
(HINT: Nada, nothing, zilch, zip)
Do you think Obama can do any better than Bill Clinton?

Did Obama get any benefit from sucking up to Venezuela's Hugo Chavez?
Think he can draw any benefits for the USA for sucking up to the
murderous thugocracy that the Palestinians are forced to live under?

Has Obama gotten any benefits from his negotiations with Iran?

So far his idea of International policy has been to diss our allies
and suck up to our enemies.

HonestaGawd, the naivety of the modern Liberal is the 8th wonder of
the World.

But I'm not worried.
To paraphrase something that Winston Churchill (popularizer of the
word "appeasement") was supposed to have said.

"The Americans will do the right thing. But only after they've tried
everything else first."

Medievalism is when they raided neighbors and tried to make their kingdom
larger, right ?

Civilization is when you protect what's yours ?

APOLOGY FROM NETANYAHU: As former U.S. ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk noted on MSNBC yesterday, it's unfortunately a common occurrence for the Israeli government to announce new settlements either just before or after a visit with U.S. officials, which damages American credibility in the region. This happened numerous times under the Bush administration. It also happened the day before Biden arrived in Israel, when the Israeli government announced approval for 112 new homes in Beitar Illit, an ultra-Orthodox settlement near Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank. It is uncommon, however, for Israel to announce new settlements during a visit from a high official like the vice president of the United States, especially when he had come to deliver a message of support. Interior Minister Eli Yishai apologized on Wednesday "for causing domestic and international distress" with the timing of the announcement, and Netanyahu reportedly told Biden, "No one was seeking to embarrass you or undermine your visit -- on the contrary, you are a true friend to Israel." According to the New York Times, aides say Netanyahu "was blindsided by the announcement from Israel's Interior Ministry, led by the leader of right-wing Shas Party. But he didn't disavow the plan." Meir Margalit, a member of Jerusalem's City Council told Israel's Ynet News that the Interior ministry "meant to sabotage the announcement that Netanyahu issued today regarding the renewal of indirect negotiations with the Palestinians. It is also a kind of slap in the face of the American administration."

The Palestinian leadership has one simple thing they can do.

Simply acknowledge that Israel has a right to exist in its present
form, as a sovereign State.

Say it in English at the UN.
Say it in English to the Americans.
Say it in Arabic to the Egyptians.
Say it in Arabic to the Syrians.
Say it in Arabic to the Jordanians.
Say it in Arabic to the Palestinians.

None of their standard bullshit practice of saying one thing in
English, and another different thing in Arabic.

Why should you be required to negotiate with an enemy that only wants
you dead and gone?

-------------------------------------------------------
Yasser Arafat once said something which could possibly the only truth
he ever uttered.
He said that he did not dare negotiate a peace with Israel because he
would surely be assassinated by his own people.

This puts Obama in a tough position. If he imposes some kind of
sanction on Israel, it fuels those who want to claim he's pro-Muslim
and pro-terrorist. If he does nothing, he's allowing Israel to call
the shots and make him look bad.

Apparently you read my reply thru your own, special 'see what I want to

defending Israel w/o exception. Now I know that you're a little bit odd

Obama has to deal with one Mahmoud Abbas.

Per Wiki:

Mahmoud Abbas (Arabic: ???????? ???????? Ma?mud ?Abbas; born 26 March
1935), also known by the kunya Abu Mazen (Arabic: ????? ???????), has
been the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) since
11 November 2004 and became President of the Palestinian National
Authority on 15 January 2005 on the Fatah (??? Fata?) ticket. Elected
to serve until 9 January 2009, he unilaterally extended his term for
another year. Rival political party Hamas announced it would not
recognise the extension.

----------------------------
Later in his life, Abbas entered graduate studies at the Patrice
Lumumba University in Moscow, where he earned a Candidate of Sciences
degree[13] (the Soviet equivalent of a PhD). He is married to Amina
Abbas; they have three sons, including Yasser Abbas, who was named
after former PA leader Yasser Arafat.[14]
----------------------------

Would it be too much of a stretch to figger that Abbas is carrying on
in the traditions of Arafat?

Basically this is how i feel.

Jews rarely unite against Israel.

I strongly suspect that Jews are rightly afraid of being blackballed.

Jews I know personally have always turned away when faced with questions
about Israel's wrongs. These are my friends and I don't press the issue.
What I walk away with is that these folks are afraid to do anything that
could cause them troubles.

Almost every Jew I ever met was very close to the holocaust so I
understand that they simply want to live in peace.

Don't get me wrong, I do not approve of Muslim methods of communication at
all.

NotOnYahoooo is not a peaceful guy.

He gets a nomination for Anti-Christ in my book.

Who on the Israeli/Jewish side is taking him to task over his wrongs ?
NOBODY

That's as unheard of as an Arab taking the Muslim nutcases to task.

Again, the only out I give Jews for not standing up to Israel is that they
have felt a whole lot of persecution and don't want anymore. I can accept
that and excuse them.

It almost sounds like you do understand, after all. So why the other
comments?

After thousands of years of persecution and then the Holocaust, Jews
need to feel there will always be a safe homeland for them to go to if
necessary. Threats against Israel feel like threats to their personal
safety.

Because Israel is part of the Jewish religion. Jews believe that the
Land of Israel was promised to them by God. It was once their land
until they were chased off. Many Jews did, in fact, come to the US
after the war, but many wanted to go to what they felt is their true
home and reclaim the land that they felt belongs to them.

Furthermore, after the Holocaust, as I mentioned in another post, Jews
felt and still feel that their own homeland is the only truly safe
haven in the world for them if things should turn ugly again.
