They have many cameras and four commentators. The event starts in 10
minutes or so. The Japanese guy is a "heavy" favorite at a whopping 120
pounds soaking wet.

quote from one of the commentators:

"comparing Kobayashi to Barry Bonds would be a slap in Kobayashi's face"

The event was so exciting. I think instead of concentrating on poker I'll
work on my eating ability - it appears professional eaters have it easier
than professional gamblers, and one of their living expenses is paid for:
food.

Most of them go puke it all up afterwards. Seirously.

I can think of a lot of things "easier" than having 53 hot dogs jostling
around my stomach.

One thing I learned watching this event. Vomiting in hot dog eating
contest parlance is "reversal of fortune" and results in an automatic
disqualification.

At my university, we have a similar competition annually. Only
differences are:

1) We don't stick to hot dogs.

2) Not only is it perfectly acceptable to vomit, it is in fact
encouraged.

I don't think that people who enjoy watching hot dog eating
competitions are particularly sick.

Eating is more fun than cards. Sometimes, you can combine them.

Of course, you could always eat the cards.
