Motorcycles? The form of transportation that burns 1/20th as much gas as a gasoline-powered car? Are you sure about that?

I'm wondering how much this:

would appreciate if you bought a new one and put it in a garage on blocks for 15 years?

Of course. Who ever travels more than 50 miles on a bike? Plenty of range.

I'm afraid to ask what kind of motorcycle that was. And, hold on to something, '1/20th' was a hyperbolic number I flipped out conversationally, anyway. A few years ago a 650cc Honda motorcycle got about 50 MPG. And, hold on to something again, the point is that they burn a lot less gas than most of the cars on the road.

Supersport bikes usually don’t come close to that, except maybe at steady,
reasonable highway speeds.

Yes, most of them do, even sport bikes, although not necessarily a lot less.

'Overview
Narcissistic personality disorder — one of several types of personality disorders — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial affairs. People with narcissistic personality disorder may be generally unhappy and disappointed when they're not given the special favors or admiration they believe they deserve. They may find their relationships unfulfilling, and others may not enjoy being around them.

Treatment for narcissistic personality disorder centers around talk therapy (psychotherapy).

Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:

Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
➡️ Be envious of others and believe others envy them ⬅️
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office

At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they perceive as criticism, and they can:

Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special treatment
Have significant interpersonal problems and easily feel slighted
React with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make themselves appear superior
Have difficulty regulating emotions and behavior
Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change
Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection
Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation

When to see a doctor

People with narcissistic personality disorder may not want to think that anything could be wrong, so they may be unlikely to seek treatment. If they do seek treatment, it's more likely to be for symptoms of depression, drug or alcohol use, or another mental health problem. But perceived insults to self-esteem may make it difficult to accept and follow through with treatment.

If you recognize aspects of your personality that are common to narcissistic personality disorder or you're feeling overwhelmed by sadness, consider reaching out to a trusted doctor or mental health provider. Getting the right treatment can help make your life more rewarding and enjoyable.'

But Blabbermouth makes an exception for himself:
'Pardon the hyperbole.'
https://groups.google.com/g/rec.gambling.poker/c/XkNWWVPsPQI/m/1Ux6-K8mBwAJ

Hint: 12 - 3 doesn't = 6. Hyperbole or innumeracy?

Was it 'hyperbole' when you failed to realize that calling the cost of universal healthcare an extra cost by ignoring the cost of healthcare now was pure math dumbness which you repeated because you saw it in the mass media when it was undertaking a full court press of lies to halt Sanders' domination of the primaries?

Not to mention your blunt ignorance regarding the earnings of the Fortune 500.

Unfortunately, your dumbness doesn't end with math. For example, posting a Bill Chen video in an attempt to refute Paul when it actually refuted you but you were too dumb to get it. Or claiming that you've been playing poker since you were 4 or 5 years old and that you specialized in stud poker. Yet you couldn't recognize a poker hand that Paul posted was a stud hand although it was blatantly obvious.

~ Is that why you lost your shit when I said Vegas was 105 six months a year? lol What a donkey.

You're a pathetic fool.

Blabbermouth describing Vancouver favorably in comparison to Las Vegas:
'it's not 105 degrees for six months a year here' and also describing Las Vegas as 'average high of 92 in May, 95 in September, and pure hell in between.'

This is what Blabbermouth describes as me 'losing my shit':
'12 months minus three months isn't 6 months'

Or do you prefer we credit it to you not being able to calculate the correct number of months between May and September? That's still a basic arithmetic problem.

Me attempting to school you in basic arithmetic isn't 'losing my shit'. It's more akin to a perhaps over-optimistic charitable concern for the inadequately educated.

Instead, you compounded your tomfoolery by trying to pass off a very basic arithmetic error as 'hyperbole'. For your personal enlightenment here is the definition of hyperbole:

'Full Definition of hyperbole
: extravagant exaggeration (such as "mile-high ice-cream cones")'
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hyperbole

Another obvious example would be describing the gas mileage of a motorcycle as 10 times what it actually is, as in:
'The form of transportation that burns 1/20th as much gas as a gasoline-powered car?'

Your basic arithmetic error doesn't fit the description.

I hope this contributes to an improvement in your arithmetic and English skills although that may be superfluous for someone who is, objectively speaking, on the dole.

Fine by me. The noise from leaf blowers and lawnmowers on the weekend pisses me off. internal combustion motorcycles can be made pretty damned quiet, but some bike producers feel they haven't done a good job unless it's louder than a tractor.

Embarrassment caution for BillBlabbermouth: that's mild hyperbole. The most expensive gas-powered Harley is about $20,000\121 horsepower.

That's true, they are quiet:

Electric bikes and cars have great benefits, but one killer drawback - range.
I looked into a couple of electric bikes recently, but they’re not good for
much more than getting around town, and this is a very small town. The
nearest big city is about 100 miles away, and it would be iffy even getting
there, and an impossible round trip, with all but the most expensive bikes.
Charging stations are rare around here.

None. I drove the ones my shop had for sale.

Then vote Democrat and get Biden's bills passed. They build thousands of charging stations
across the country.

Oh, and your Social Security will include dental, vision and hearing aids. And your medicine
costs will go down because Medicare will be able to negotiate with Big Pharma.
(Additional lists of how you come out ahead passing Biden's bills, on request)

So, why do you vote Republican?

LOL , in a moment of insanity I almost bought one of these at 28k a few years ago.

https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/motorcycles/ultra-limited.html

I have been watching the market for a 2021 Goldwing. There should be some pop-up with low mileage in 22. I am in a great spot off of I 95 to cruise the east coast.

My last bike was a 2008 Yamaha FJR 1300. It is what is called a sport-touring bike that is ironically not good for either sport or touring. Fun to ride but not comfortable on the long haul and way too slow to be a sport bike.

So why is the Medicare drug bill being blocked by dems?

I don’t know what year it was, but I saw 140 HP. That’ can’t be too
slow, even at 600 lbs. That’s way lighter than that 900 lb behemoth Gold
Wing.

Oh it would run, just not with sport bikes. For the record I am not into going 150 and doing wheelies but i did rip around with some guys on liter bikes and was constantly blown away.

Yep, those liter bikes are a whole ’nother species. You would have done
much better against the 600 bikes. They tend to be ~125 HP. Plus that FJR
would have had much more low end torque than those 600’s.

Tons of torque. You could let off the clutch and it would take off, at idle.

As long as you ride...

Here’s my bikes (1965). I didn’t have a car or pickup, just bikes. The biggest Honda (we were a
Honda dealership) at the time was the 305, my road bike. My dirt bike was a Triumph 250. Here
in front of the shop where I was mechanic.

Our racing team was the Visalia Ramblers.

This was the shop manager (owner’s sister).

I taught her to ride..
