Obama and the Democrats have run up the biggest deficits in American
history, we are so far in debt to China and other foreign countries that
the U.S. dollar is on the verge of collapse and now Obama, Pelosi and Reid
are in the process of jamming through a $1.25 trillion dollar government
take over of the health care system. A take over that the majority of
Americans have clearly and repeatedly said they do not want and can not
afford. Not to mention Obama's insane $ trillion dollar cap & tax energy
plan that will raise taxes on all working Americans and drive even more
private sector jobs over seas.
Mean while Obama is ignoring our soldiers in Afghanistan, stabbing our
allies in the back giving Iran a green light to develop a nuclear weapon
while he focuses on trying to shut down Fox News for daring to question
his policies. Obama has divided and polarized this country more, in less
time, than any one thought possible.

You can try to blame Obama all you want but this whole recession
started under George Bush and is entirely his fault. If Bush were
still in office or if the old man/young bimbo would have won last
November unemployment would be over 15%.
Economic activity in the manufacturing sector expanded in October for
the third consecutive month, and the overall economy grew for the
sixth consecutive month.
The stock markets back to 10000 and Dow Jones Economic Sentiment
Indicator is up to 36.9, the highest level since August 2008.
Jobs are always the last to recover but they will eventually thanks to
Obama.
You are going to be so disappointed when America survives.
The selloff in the stock market occurred when it was realized that McCain
would not be continuing Bush policies.
You are not smart enough to be disappointed

John McCain would have done exactly what he said he would do, which is
exactly what Ronald Reagan did to pull the country out of the recession of
the 1980s. He would have cut taxes, suspended the capital gains tax and
started cutting government spending. Reagan turned the economy around and
created 20 million new jobs.. We are in this mess because Obama ignored
economist's advice and tried to spend his way our of a recession by
growing the size and scope of the federal government.

Unemployment, manufacturing, housing and production are still in terrible
shape. America is buried under Obama's deficit spending and we have
little hope of ever paying it off in our lifetimes. Which is why the oil
producing countries are considering going away from the dollar as a
standard currency, Thanks to Obama's reckless spending and massive
entitlement programs China will soon own more of America than we do.

The stock market is up based on speculation and wishful thinking. The
foundation of the economy is jobs and small business growth and both are
in terrible shape. Banks are afraid to loan money, consumers are afraid
to spend and small business can't afford to grow or ad jobs. What little
economic success there has been was due primarily to the temporary effect
of the "cash for clunkers" program which was really just another
government hand out at tax payer expense.

The American economy will eventually recover but it will be in spite of
Obama's disastrous economic policies and not because of them. If his
$multi-trillion dollar government take over of health care and his cap &
tax plans pass, America will lose hundreds of thousands more private
sector jobs. When Obama fails to renew the Bush tax cuts, every middle
class worker in America is going to get hit with a tax increase and small
business will cut even more jobs and reduce business investment and
expansion.

I fought and bled for this country and I lost a great deal of money in the
sub-prime economic collapse. I very much want to see this country recover
and prosper so I have a chance to recover the money I've lost. Which is
why Obama's disastrous financial policies are so hard to watch.

Wasn't the unemployment rate dropping steadily for a couple of years
before Reagan took office? Didn't unemployment soar during the first
year of Reagan's presidency? I think it was just over 7% when he took
office, and almost 11% after his first year. It was sometime in 1984
before the unemployment rate returned to what it had been when Reagan
took office in January, 1981. You are quite the revisionist, Mike.

To the extent Obama "ignored economists" in trying to clean up the
Bush economic nightmare, he spent too little, not too much. Most of
the economists I heard (and that was quite a few) were saying, given
the size of the US economy, it would take a stimulus package of about
$1.2 trillion to even begin to have a noticeable effect. Looks like
they may have been right. At least we can agree that Obama is
responsible for putting politics ahead of expert opinion.

That's for sure.
