unless anyone has figured out how to get back to the old version...

I can't figure out how Google can put out a totally unusable interface and expect people to keep using it. They've obviously put some time, effort, and money into it, but it is obvious that the code developer never actually uses the tool to read newsgroups.

Sigh. Guess it is time to get a newsreader and feed again.

It doesn't look good. I couldn't "Revert to the old Google Groups" today which I have been able to do in the past.

It seems to be randomly switching back and forth between versions.
Right now, it appears to be just like the old version again, at least
in this group. But in another newsgroup, I'm still stuck with the new
version. Anyway, I will need to start looking for a better solution.
Or just drop usenet altogether. I don't hang around usenet all that
much anyway these days.

ditto - I liked the old one because it was easy to search stupid things
people have said before. With the new google it is next to impossible.

Why? Can't you remember?

Anyway, as if by magic or wishful thinking, it's all back to normal
for me now.

I have to admit, I'm one of those people who in some respects doesn't
like change, if it ain't broke don't fix it etc. I'm a bit of a
conservative in that way. Some of these technology clowns seem
obsessed with change.
