This new super 100% 4if6in18number42combination wheel combines
prize winning possibilities not always found in other versions
of this wheel designation. (18,6,4,6 42 which means a pick-6
game where a 4 number prize is 100% guaranteed if all 6 of the
winning numbers are among the 18 numbers being wheeled in 42
combinations.)

Indeed, one hundred percent is all the percent there is, but
wheels can be more than their encoded one line description.

Wheels concurrently carry within them percentages of cover for
all prizes the lottery offers. Sometimes wheels can even
carry wheels within wheels for a combitorial double dip!!!

I was rather pleased when CoverMaster finally clicked to zero
after a two day run, because I knew what had gone into the
"Locked" portion of the wheel. Here I was, trying something
old with something new and it worked spectacularly. Why . . .

Dimitrov 4if6 wheels used a foundation of three number blocks
laid down like bricks. This core of blocks made natural mini
4if5of9 wheels for 3 line sets and 4if6of12 wheels for 6 line
sets for the wheel maker to weave together.

(Actually Dimitrov wheels are copies of wheels smuggled out of
the Eastern Block in the fifties where permutations were hand
made by mathematicians for various purposes, probably due to a
lack of alternative entertainment.)

In my attempt to build a better wheel I used this foundation
upon which CoverMaster [Generated] 27 additional lines to
[Optimize] over two days and nights to close the cover.

The results were good, so I saved a copy and [Optimized] for
3if3, then 4if6 again, rocking back and forth until I had 100%
of 4if6 and 95.58824% of 3if3. Far as I can determine this is
absolutely optimal coverage for 18 numbers in 42 combinations.

Reviewing a multitude of store bought wheels and repository
wheels available, the new wheel was equal to the best in all
prize tier percentages of cover and better than many including
some that also had the Dimitrov style foundation.

In short, this wheel is top notch, a fact you can't know about
its competitors without testing them first. Onward . . .

Have you ever noticed how we use 3if and 4if abbreviated
wheels when we want to win a jackpot? Sure we play what we
can afford and hope for the best, but is this really the way?

Some time ago I began to wonder if there was more to the way
Dimitrov wheels were constructed. Where there hidden secrets
of the old masters, hidden super powers you might say, if only
one knew how to put them to use.

Well guess what, there is !!!

The Dimitrov blocks provide a conditional internal wheel you
can use to directly target the jackpot while at the same time
playing a 4if6in18 wheel at no additional cost to you.

The only difference between what you usually do and the new
way is simple. Where before you wrote out the pointer numbers
01-18 and your numbers below to exchange on the wheel. Now you
write them out and put a line between each 3 number group.

Old: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18

New: 1-2-3 | 4-5-6 | 7-8-9 | 10-11-12 | 13-14-15 | 16-17-18

Where before you wrote your numbers below in numeric order or
however they came to you. Now you put numbers in each group
you hope/expect will be drawn together.

If you are a "pairs" player, two pairs with a number in common
makes a nice three number set.

The secret is within the whole of the greater wheel, each and
every one of these six sets of three numbers will come in
contact with each other to form a combination: 1-2-3+4-5-6,
1-2-3+7-8-8, etc. Of course you won't be playing 1-2-3-4-5-6,
you will be playing the numbers you replaced them with.

So what happens if you get . . .

Any two 3# sets right? Instant Jackpot!!!
A 3# and a 2# and a 1# right? A 5# win and a 4# win!
A 3# and a 2# right? A 5# win!
A 3# and three 1#'s right? Three 4# wins!
A 3# and two 1#'s right? Two 4# wins!
A 3# and one 1# right? One 4# win!
Three 2#'s of the sets right? Three 4# wins!
Two 2#'s of the sets right? One 4# win!
A 2# and four 1#'s right? Four 3# wins!
A 2# and three 1#'s right? Three 3# wins!

The above win table is only for the Dimitrov portion of the
wheel within the greater wheel which guarantees 100% 4if6,
100% 3if6, 100% 3if5, 100% 3if4, 79% 4if5, 95% 3if3.

Finally we have a wheel that offers the wheeling lotto player
the opportunity to target the jackpot without giving up one
iota of traditional 4if6 coverage or alternative prize cover.

What's that you say? That isn't enough? You say you want more
for your money? Well, here's what I'm gonna do. You know how
powerful a 3if3 wheel is for multiple 3# prizes when you have
any 4, 5, or 6 of the numbers correct? (Note a 100% 3if3of6in
18# wheel can be found on various sources taking from 48 to 59

Hi Robert,

a very nice work and description from you.

Look at my following super wheel.
It is the best available 18,6,3,3-48 Covering Design.

4if5 we get on 85.29% and 4if4 we get on 23.52% of the possible drawings.
Also the 3if3 is improved against all other 3if3in18 because only
690 of all possibilities have once 3 right, all other possible drawns
have 2 times or 5 times 3 right if 3 of the 18 are within the 6 drawn numbers.
Other 18,6,3,3-48 have at 720 (like yours), 728 or 730 possible drawns
once 3 right.

Nice improvement Manfred I'm jealous already. ;-) I hope
you will be sending this to the wheeling repositories as
it seems to be better than those I recall testing.

I think my wheel is as good as it can be and retain the
Dimitrov 3+3 lines that allow the Jackpot to be targeted
(not that I won't try).

For software that doesn't allow one to position their
numbers to load the wheel in a specific order your wheel
would be best. For those willing to group their numbers
in sub-sets of three they believe will hit together and
hand load the wheel on paper, I think my wheel provides
a unique opportunity to play for a Jackpot at virtually
zero additional cost in cash or coverage over the usual
3if3 and 4if6 in 18# wheels individually or combined.

In both wheels, I think we're advancing the concept of
wheels within wheels covering multiple scenarios at
little or no additional cost to cover/play. Power to
the player!

Thanks for the push, turns out the wheel can be made
that tight even with the blocks. Don't know if there
is a 4if6 in there that can be seperated out in 42
lines, but it's in there as part of the 48.

Remember people, you can work the blocks for a Jackpot
shot without any risk to the traditional 3if3 and 4if6
coverage you'd normally enjoy. It's a freebie !!!

Here's one I've just improved after seeing the above, I know the remaining
4if6 (4missing) can be achieved in 25blocks so maybe it will fit in here
somewhere.

Anyone beat my attempt so far?

Better than I had so an improvement, I have a collection now from 7numbers
to 20numbers with just these missing from the 4if6 to make it complete:-
19numbers 7missing
20numbers 330missing

And of course the 16numbers still with the 1missing. I think there is slim
chance to close the 20number but I did try, also there will be no chance to
close 21numbers (and above) as a 21,6,3,3=77 and a 21,6,4,6=80 as I'm sure
you are aware.

I will have another go sometime.

I'm at 100 lines to combine those two with sub-set blocks
and thinking it may be worth it, all things considered.

Part of the problem is nowadays people are improving wheels
all too well, as software only a few years old has 21,6,4,6 in
108 lines so I thought I was really improving things. Beyond
that is seeing if that 21,6,4,6=80 is good for lotto or just
a split wheel or other worthless to lotto players illusion of
value. So many factors you have to take into account <sigh>.

Hi Robert and gARY,
here is a wheel 100% 3if3, 100% 4if6, 80.3% 4if5, with 97 lines.
(96 lines could be possible because only one
combination was missing and I had not relocked enough lines
during optimization).

Also I have implemented that each of the 7 3-number blocks is
combined with every other of the 6 remaining 3-number blocks.

So now we go into using more lines than the 3if3, why didn't I think of
that!

I quite like the payout returned and the whole covering on the (18,6,4,5)81,
until I see the split 9's over the first 75tickets, however I'm still
putting it in me 'Supa Wheels' folder. :)

100% 4if6, 3if3 plus 3+3 Jackpot blocks 21 numbers 96 lines.

If you want to use this wheel to full advantage, when you
write your best numbers under the 01-21 pointer numbers to
exchange for mine in the lines below, do so in groups of
three numbers you believe will hit together as a group. The
wheel puts each 3# group in contact with each of the other
6 groups, get any two right = instant jackpot. Get a group
of three and a group of two right = instant 5# prize, and
so on. Unique opportunity to target a jackpot while playing
a 4if6 and 3if3 wheel all at the same time. Triple dip!!!

The Iliya Bluskov book Combinatorial Lottery Systems
(Wheels) with Guaranteed Wins has a 13,6,4,4=66 with
9 - 4# lines when 6,4,6 comes in. I would say two
additional 4# prizes for one additional line would
be a useful improvement. Kind of a shame repositories
are only interested in the tightest wheels rather than
which are better for playing lottery. In the same
sense, it is a shame lottery products do such a poor
job of explaining opportunities some wheels provide,
but that may be due to the software being unable to
exploit those opportunities such as only being able
to load the wheel in numeric order anyway.

The point being to find ways to get more out of a wheel
at little to no additional cost to play, I'd say this

Or we could close it for a slight loss (as of my last) on the 5if6 and have
a minimum: win of:-

1* 4hit 'and' 12-20 3hits if 4 get drawn

I just tried a copy and paste of the above wheel in
CoverMaster 54.1 and got the exact same reports.

As for those four lines you quote, I don't even see

The detailed reports are (to the best of my knowledge) accurate. You
misunderstand them. Take the first line you see as an error :

1 3 4 7 10 12

According to the 'find' function (which does have bugs under some
circumstances), there are 8 match 4's *BUT* there is also a match 6. The
subsets of this match 6 (15 of them) are not added to the match 4 total. If
you look at the bottom line which summarizes what you get AS WELL AS the
match 6, you see that it says 8-15 in the match 4 column, stating there will
be a minimum of 8 match 4's along with the match 6. There are indeed 8 match
4's, the minimum stated.

Likewise for the other 'errors' which all have better than match 4's.

The detailed report is based on a request from Adolf, I replicated the
output of the example he gave me. I agree with Adolf and believe this is the
best way of presenting the multiple win data without reams of printout. Any
other forms of output will be considered upon request.

I have been trying to cover the 4if4 and the 5if6 in 67lines, this of course
covers the 3if3.

I have made some advances, and the best I have (choice of 2 to play with)

(5if5 covered, around the 30% mark for both)

Hi Nick, Robert and John,

Covermaster is counting correctly.

It is a problem of interpretation what the detailed report
shows and therefore the error of Robert's wrong interpretation.

The report says, that in minimum 14 times 4 right numbers
are available, but only if there are not additional 5 or 6
numbers also available with the 6 tested numbers.

But this does not say that L=14. Because:

The report says clear: if once 5 numbers are right,
there can be only 10 times 4 right numbers, which makes
in this case in summary L=1+10=11 and not 14.

Also the report says: if once 6 right numbers are right,
there can be only 8 times 4 numbers be right, what would
make L=1+8=9. But at this point the report is not clear,
because it says also 0...1 5 right numbers are possible
and we don't know whether 5 right number has to be
implemented or not; therefore L could be also 1+1+8=10.
But we see that the minimum could be L=9 for once 6 right.

Sounds to me like CoverMaster is reporting what is
guaranteed to happen, a more useful report. We all
know the chance to win a higher prize exists and if
won sucks up some of the guaranteed wins within its
six number mini-cover, but insisting we factor that
into the guaranteed result is not a true indicator
of what will happen when we have six winning numbers
on the wheel. Knowing what you can't do worse then
without leaping to an open cover prize tier is what
lottery players what to know they're playing for.

"Robert's wrong interpretation" are you saying six
correct numbers will not generate at least 14 - 4#
winning tickets from the wheel? Would you prefer
me to say for example, "you have a .001% chance of
a 6# win, or a 16% chance of a 5# win or an 84%
chance of 14 - 4# wins, which are not guaranteed
(but included within the payment of, according to
lottery officials) if you win the 5 or 6# prize."?

Let me point that out again. Even if winning a
higher prize eliminates some of the multiple lower
tier lines/physical tickets, the prizes they would
have paid are included within the higher tier prize
payment. Don't take my word for it, ask your lottery.

Hi Robert,

yes , that is the fact - if we have 6 numbers right, there
can be the situation that only additional 8 times four numbers are right.
Mathematically we have then L=9.

We have to check each line of the report and have to count L for each line.
The lowest found L is then the guaranteed minimum for the wheel.

We will only get problems if in one line two columns print 0...5 or so.
If 0...5 or so is only in one column, we know that in this column
there can be a zero value and we need not to add this column to
our counting. Therefore in our example we can say that definitely
L=9 for the wheel (instead of 14).

(If we check 4 right, we can ignore the column with 3 right for our counting).

First I thought like you, that L=14.
But then I checked the combinations from Nick's posting and found
that it is true that L=9 for some combinations.

Therefore thanks Nick for opening our eyes.

His statement, that the software makes errors in the detailed report,
is not correct.

Because Covermaster has to check each possible 6 number
combination, there could be implemented a formula which
counts L from all combinations, saves always the lowest L
and then print after finishing in the table : L=.....

It is also right that a higher price will eliminate multiple lower prices,
but the point is that we want to describe the minimum guaranteed
(multiple) combinations of a wheel.

I'm on Robert's side, this is rec.gambling.lottery, the minimum (lottery)
prize is 14 x match 4. Being combinatorially technically correct is not
something a lottery player is striving for, it's prizes that matter not what
'L' equals.

We can read both from the detailed report and should
say one of both and not mix it.

Winning a jackpot does not eliminate the multiple lower
prizes your combination might have won, the jackpot
amount includes them. At least according to most state
lottery faqs I've seen where the question is asked and

If you use combinatorial expressions, then they should
be correct. Nobody says "I have a red pullover and it is
a pair of trousers".

I said, that I made the same misinterpretation like
Robert and I think it is neither a shame for him nor
for me.

It is now clear (I think) what the CM report shows and
we can have fun again with such great super wheels
which Robert initialized and introduced.

accurate.

wheel-6 from his site. Data file is the wheel, 38 lines to use.
Guarantee 6of6, 18 numbers. Filter FOUR=38. I got 1300 combs not
covered 4if6. Ion software doesn't spit out 1-2-3-4-5-6,
7-8-9-10-11-12 etc. Should be more than 1500 combs not covered !!!
I checked these lines manually, not covered:

Wheel632 is much better but runs with at least 10000 combs
(simulated). Put the wheel at the top of the random lines.

Shirley you understand we're talking about a combined 3if3
and 4if6 wheel and not a 6if6 which of course leaves some
of those 6if6 possibilities uncovered. I don't visit Ion's
site, don't want to be accused of stealing ideas or what not.

have to check manually. Uyou can use same Ion's winners.exe. You see
1363 combs cover no better than 3of6 !!! No 4 hits, no fives, no six!

I revived some strategies based on lotto wheeling. Google groups is a good repository of theories and techniques focusing on playing lotto wheels. As you remember me, I am really a big fan of them reduced lottery systems. Main reason: You hit all 6 winners, but you won’t get the jackpot more often than not!

But I noticed this year of COVID grace that I could improve the efficiency of the wheels by a factor of magnitude. The key is the number frequency — and derivatives (pair frequency and triplets frequency).

I just analyzed once more the wheels produced here by Kotkoduck (aka Robert Perkis) and Mafitzer (aka Manfred). In fact, Kotkoduck’s second wheel is the same as Mafitzer’s. They grouped the numbers differently.

The main 3-number groups in Mafitzer’s wheel:

Each group appears 5 times in the system. It is the largest frequency; the rest of the groups occur 2 times, or once.

The main 3-number groups in Kotkoduck’s wheel:

Kotkoduck’s wheel is more intuitive when applying the strategy I present here.

On the main menu of the Bright / Ultimate software packages: Run function ‘U = Super Utilities’, then option 3 = ‘Triplets rundown’.

Open your up-to-the-date data file and enter the range of analysis. In my case of a 49-number lotto game, the parpaluck applicable to triples (i.e., range of analysis) is 70.

I arrived at that figure by analyzing the W6.1 winning report. It shows a median of 35 for the ‘Three’ parameter. That is, in half the drawings analyzed, a triplet will repeat within 35 lottery drawings. I multiplied that factor by 2 (e.g., 70 in my case) to get a better chance of two triplet-repeats.

The program creates several files, including Triple6.SOR. It lists all lotto triples in descending order, from the most frequent to the triplet with the worst frequency.

I create a ‘Picks’ file from the most frequent triplets. In my case, there is a bunch of trips with the best frequency of 2. I make sure my selections consist of unique numbers only. There are lots of trips with a frequency of 2.

I paste 6 triplets to my ‘Picks’ file. That’s why it is easier to work with Kotkoduck’s wheel: You don’t have to worry about the grouping of the numbers. You simply copy 6 triplets that give a line of 18 unique lotto numbers.

Here is a real-life sample of my ‘Picks’ file:

The 18 numbers are unique. Every trip has a frequency of 2. I also selected the triplets to have a good balance based on lotto decades.

Do NOT sort the numbers. You feed the ‘Picks’ file to my ‘LottoWheeler.exe’ software.

No doubt, this method of selecting the lotto numbers (i.e. top trips) is far better than random selection.

However, a strange phenomenon took place. You can check it in other 6/49 lotto games. It’s a good chance you get similar results.

So, first — and the normal procedure — I checked the “wheeled” file ‘KotkoWheel-18.46.OUT’. You can see it in the previous post. I checked for winners in the next 20 drawings in the real 6/49 lotto game. That is, I determined the top 6 trips in the picks file (you also see it in my previous posts). After that, I waited some 20 draws. I ran ‘Super Utilities’ (main menu of ‘Bright / Ultimate Software’, function ‘U’), then function ‘W = Check for Winners’).

Kind of WOW now! The 18-number group (the top 6 triples) had one 4-number hit and ONE 5-NUMBER HIT! Far, far better than random play! Because of the “wheeling”, however, our wheel only provided 24 ‘3-of-6’ hits — no ‘4 in 6’, no ‘5 of 6’.

A strange idea crossed my mind. Let’s not “wheel” the 18 pointers. In other words, I would have played only lotto numbers from 1 to 18.

ParpalAxios, is this a PARADOX? Or, the lotto games are biased toward LOW numbers? Or, this lotto game in particular is biased toward LOW numbers?

Every strategy has a CYCLE OF FRUITION. The degree of certainty is extremely low that the system will win the very next lottery drawing. In this particular case, for triplets, the cycle of fruition is some 27 draws. It is the half-point of the parpaluck (i.e.; total drawings analyzed or range of analysis, 54 in this case).

Changing the system (i.e.; playing different lottery numbers) from drawing to drawing is a bad idea. I strongly advise against it based on numerous statistical reports. Let the wine mature!

• There is a new useful feature for reading the Usenet posts in Google Groups. The vast majority of newsgroup members use GROUPS.GOOGLE.COM to post and read on the Internet pioneering service, Usenet.

One drawback of the Google service, very useful otherwise, is the default font. It is a proportional font (of variable width, that is). However, initially, Usenet was written and shown in a monospace font.

Many of the statistical reports I posted over the years did not show up in an acceptable format. The original format was the typewriter format (the Courier font). I shall inventory the most important posts in this newsgroup and refer the readers to this important thread. Reading will be better overall.
