place to live. Does anyone know this to be true? Have you actually lived
there or know someone who does how are vegetarians?
The reason why i want to know is because in a few months i need to move
to Mass and i want to live in a town which has at least two natural food
stores, co-ops preferrably, as well as at least two vegetarian
restraunts, having many vegan items available. I've also heard that
Boston has a Vegetarian Society, but i have yet to find thier phone
number or address.
also, if you know of other places in mass which are equal/better than
Brookline for a vegetarian lifestyle, i am all ears!

I grew up in Brookline and still go there often. There is a good vege
friendly store there, Bread and Circus. I think it's the best vege store
around Boston. I don't think it's quite as good as what's available in
California, but it's still very respectable. They have a wide range of
produce, both organic and not, and many vegan items made without milk,
eggs, or sugar.
Brookline also has these two vege friendly restaurants:
Angkor Wat, 404 Harvard Street, (617) 232-2424
o Chinese & Vietnamese. Half of menu is vegetarian (vegan). They
promise that the vegetarian dishes are cooked in a separate wok.
Owned by the same peole who run Buddha's Delight in Boston. Food
is good, but the quality, price, and selection do not compare to
Buddha's Delight.

o Middle Eastern. Vegetarian options in most courses. Vegan options.
I haven't been to them myself yet so I can't say more. I have been to
a great vege friendly restaurant called "The Five Seasons" in Jamaica
Plain, which is not far from Brookline, and I recommend it highly. Their
number is 617-524-9016.

Yes, it's possible you might find someplace better. You can get more

Brookline is conveniently located so you could get to most places in
Cambridge or Boston easily from there. Brookline is an upscale, nice
area and commands higher rents than some other suburbs of Boston. It
has a large Jewish community and is the birthplace of President John F.
Kennedy.
