There is a Syrian restaurant here that serves "Herissa". I have been
searching for the recipe, but no luck yet. Someone suggested it might
also be called Galaktoboureko. The dessert is very simple; it is
described on the menu as baked cream of wheat and honey. If anyone
has a recipe for this, please please let me know!!

Thanks!

Elisabeth

Harrissa (also a Palestinian and Egyptian dessert):

Equal amounts of cream of wheat and yogurt (plain of course:) (1/2 pound
cream of wheat, and 500 ml yogurt)
and a bit (I really don't measure) - maybe 1/2 tsp baking powder. Mix above
and place in a cake pan prebrushed with tahini (seasame seed paste).
bake at about 350 until brown. Make a syrup (water, sugar, lemon, and
orange blossom water) and pour (while both cake and syrup are hot) onto
the harrissa. allow to soak through. ENJOY.
