I will be spending two weeks in Europe starting July 29th.
In particular, I will be spending a few days in Geneva, Switzerland
and then going on to Florence, Italy. Can someone give me
recommendations on where to eat in either of these two cities?
I'm looking for something not too expensive (medium price
for the area). I am told that I should expect to pay more
in Switzerland as everything is quite expensive.

Thanks!

When I was living in Florence, there was a little restaurant named "Bordino's".
The food was excellent and the prices were fairly reasonable (everything
is rather expensive in Florence). Anyway, it was near the Ponte
Vecchio, all you need to do is ask someone for better directions but it
is pretty much within walking distance of the main sites in Florence
(The Duomo et al. :-)
Have a wonderful time as Firenze is one of the most gorgeous cities in
the world but if you can, take a train down to Venice even if it is only
for a day as that is an experience you will never forget.
