A few weeks ago I posted a request for restaurants in Berlin. Thanks
to those who replied! A summary of the replies is provided below. If
your favorite Berlin restaurant isn't shown below, please let me
know!!! I don't leave for another week, so there's still time to make
the list.

There's a good Indian restaurant near the Ku-Damm called Golden
Temple. The Cafe Bleibtreu on Bleibtreustr. (near the Savignyplatz
S-Bahn station) is a good place to hang out and have a coffee or a
beer.

Top recommendation: Restaurant Dubrovnic (Jugoslavian/Croatian food)
near the Europa Center (short walk from Gedankniskirche). There is
also a chinese joint near there (forget the name) that was pretty
good. Be sure to go by the Museum am Checkpoint Charlie. If you can
catch a performance of the Berlin Philharmonic or various other groups
(e.g. Berlin Bach Orch.), do so. They are incredible. If you stay on
the Ku'damm, try to ignore the plentiful ladies-of-the-evening along
there, although they don't charge for (brief) conversation... :-)

BERLIN

SAMOVAR Luisenplatz 3 1000 Berlin 10 (an der Schlossbrucke) opposite
the Charlottenberg home. Great mushroom soup and all sorts of Russian

Hi Gary,

I was in Berlin briefly about one year ago. My suggestion, for variety
and <$$, is check out the food court (food floor more like it) in the
largest Berlin dept. store. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of
the store---but I can tell you that it's on the big main steet that
cuts through the center of West Berlin about 1/2-1 mile from the Zoo
Station. Its actually really easy to find, sort of the Berlin
equivalent of Harrod's in London.

Sorry I don't have an exact address but it is definitly worth finding
for lunch or an early dinner. They had food from everywhere, and an
amazing candy/sweets selection.

KaDeWe, Tauentzienstr. 20, between Europa Center and Wittenbergplatz.
It's a fun place...
