Here in Champaign, Illnois, we have 2 new restaurants, the Texas Roadhouse and
the Lone Star Steakhouse. Has anyone eaten at both of these chains, and if so,
which is the better bang for the buck? I am assuming they are both the usual
steak and potato type of place and nothing special. The Texas Roadhouse looks
more impressive on the outside, that's about all I know.
Thanks-
Suzanne

If it's Logan's Roadhouse - STAY AWAY. About 2 years ago, I had a steak kabob dish
at one and half way through the meal, my gums got quite sore and very tender.
Simply biting on the rice became painful. When I woke up the next morning, I found
I had essentially lost my sense of taste. It took about 6 months before it was
restored. Best guess is they used excessive meat tenderizer (the steak pieces were
still tough) and it ended up tenderizing the insides of my mouth. Never happen
before and never happened since elsewhere. Not worth the risk.

***It is NOT a Logans. It is part of a chain of steak places called "TEXAS Road
House.' But, thanks for the warning anyway. I don't eat dead cow flesh very
often and now, I'm glad. I was inquiring about these two places because we have
some relatives coming to visit who are big steak and potato eaters. I was just
wondering if there was anything worth eating for the rest of us.
