The Spanish have better food overall than the French, and good Italian
wine is better as well. The French are just snootier about it.

Edam is my favorite. I buy a big ball of it, and eat it breakfast lunch

France developed a couple of great breeds of dogs. Other than that,
pretty much everything highly rated from France... is overrated.
Which breeds would that be? Don't say the poodle, for the poodle more
than likely was developed in Germany.
The Bichon, however, is a great little dog from France.

For God's sake. If you know the answer then why are you asking?
Even if it was meant to be rhetorical, I assure you it was lost when you
gave the answer.

When I was in London in 1987, there was a Taco Bell near Picadilly
Circus. I have no idea if it's still there.
I just spent a week and a half in Paris, and travelled throughout the
city. I didn't see a Taco Bell.

There's no Arby's in Paris either, but there is one in London. Believe
that's near Piccadilly Circus too.
Paris also has a Chili's, T.G.I. Friday's, Chi-Chi's (long gone in the
Houston, TX area), Domino's Pizza, and Pizza Hut. Bet you missed all these
places!
Chris in Pearland, TX who tried to find an Arby's when she was in Paris..
don't ask <g>

I was thinking of the Briard and the Bouvier. I am sure the Bichon
Frise is a fine dog - I am simply not a toy dog fan, regardless of
nationality. :-)

There's at least one KFC in Paris, too.

Here's my stab-in-the dark answer from someone that worked for a French company,
so with many French, so consider that while I make this huge generalization:
French people do not like "spicy" foods. Taco Bell is not, by our standards,
spicy, but it is to people who traditionally don't eat a lot of peppers.
Every time a french person would go to a Mexican restaurant with us spicier folk,
they would invariably order something from the gringo menu, like a burger.

french fries are pretty yummy though.
I applaud France for keeping them out!
The last I looked around my old neighborhood (Queens, NY 11365)
there were NO McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, White Castles for MILES around.
Local mom-and-pop pizza places only (no Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John).
It was not an upscale or ritzy neighborhood (like Forest Hills)
but somehow the stores mostly retained a neighborhood culture.
I'm unsure how that happened but I hope it continues.

A: To show that they are not cats.

Bouvier... hmmm... Isn't that the breed raised by the wealthy in New
England? The one that seeks out a powerful mate from an established
bloodline to breed with, then develops selective blindness when the stud
goes to romp with other females? Known for it's tres chic coat?
Just curious...

that is not a new england breed, it is one that was originally bred on
long island - specifically in the hamptons. unfortunately one of the
bitches were bred with the offspring of a new england 'rum runner' and
the other with a polish prince.
