1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilia extract
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
3 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg, beaten
as needed sesame seeds
1. Preheat oven to 325 deg. F.
2. Cream the butter, sugar and vasnila until light and fluffy. Beat
the egg and milk.
3. Sift the flour along with the baking powder and stir it into the
butter mixture using a wooden spoon. Knead the mixtrue until it is
well blended.
4. Roll out the dough very thin and cut into circles. Place the
cookies on an ungreased baking sheet and brush the tops, with beaten
egg. sprinkle very generously with sesame seeds and bake for about 25
minutes on the top shelf of the oven.
Variation: A small amount of coarsely crushed pistachios may be
placed under the circles of dough as they are arranged on the baking
sheets.
