STUFFED MONKEYS

1/2 lb butter
1lb self rising flour
1/2 lb brown sugar
a little cinnamon
2 eggs
2 ozs. almonds
2 ozs. raisins
2 ozs. currants
1/4 lb sultanas
some mixed peel all chopped finely
1/4 cup sugar
a little cinnamon and spice.
1 egg white
Rub butter into flour, add brown sugar and a little cinnamon. Beat 2 eggs and
make into a paste. Roll rather thin and cut into rounds using 2 sizes of
cutters, one a little smaller than the other. Mic nuts and drief fruit with the
sugar and cinnamon. Put some of the nut and fruit mixture on the larger one.
Moisten with the white of an egg. Cover with smaller piece and pinch round,
press into ball and bake in moderate oven until a nice brown.
