RECIPES FROM SEASONINGS' "DECEMBER: A SEASON OF CELEBRATION"
For winter holidays 1994-1995

Vertamae Grosvenor's "Until We Meet Again" Scripture Cake

Judges 5:25 1 cup butter
Jeremiah 6:20 2 cups sugar
Isaiah 10:17 6 eggs
Genesis 24:17 1 cup water
Samuel 30:12 2 cups raisins
Samuel 30:12 2 cups figs
Genesis 43:11 1 cup chopped walnuts
Exodus 16:21 3 Tbsp honey
First Kings 10:10 spices to taste
Leviticus 2:13 1/2 tsp salt
1st Corinthians 5:6 2 tsp baking powder
First Kings 4:2 3 1/2 cups sifted flour

Follow advice in Proverbs 23:14. Blend and beat well and bake
slowly in a moderate oven.
