Anyone have any opinions about it for use in a Tilia?
I was on the hunt yesterday for bag material and found some at Sam's
(but it also included mostly 11" width product). Went next door to
Wally World and found both the FoodSaver brand of stuff and some B&D
(see subject) that is advertised to "work in leading brands". Seems to
work fine. It's half the cost of the FoodSaver stuff. What am I
missing, because it seems like it's a no-brainer. My sense is that may
be a little lighter gauge of material than FoodSaver.
(And didja know that Jarden now owns them, too?

There was a long discussion on this in afb a while back.
You might want to ask there.

Yahbut, do you know anything about the quality of the B&D product?

Barb

We stumbled across them once about 3 years ago when the store was out of the
Tilia bags. We've used them ever since with no difference. We have both a
Tilia and B&D sealer, and both seal just as well with the B&D bags, but the
B&D machine doesn't like Tilia bags.

So, for sealing venison trim in 5# blocks, and sausage in portion sized
bags, I won't use the Tilia bags any longer.
My perception of the lighter gauge is that it only has the channeling
material on the sides, not an entire panel.

Rather spend the extra money on toys. ;)

Thanks.
I'm out and about today and will be returning the FoodSaver variety pack
to Sam's and the other FoodSaver 8" roll to Wally World.

Duh-me. Thanks, Reg.
My Advanced Google Groups Search skills suck rope. Can you tell me the
name of the thread? I'm happy to look it up but have had no luck with
it doing what I'm doing.
