Going on a two week canoe trip and would like to try to bring some
dehydrated ground beef this time.

Anybody have any recipes?? Found many good recipes for meals calling for
dehydrated meat but not how to make it.

Thanks

I found a mix which makes ground beef into beef jerkey at our local
WalMart store. It was in the canning and preserving aisle.
Good Luck,

Buy the leanest ground beef you can. It is the fat going rancid that causes spoilage
of dried meats fastest. Cook it down and drain all of the fat that you can. Place
the cooked gr beef in a strainer and pour hot water over it to rinse out some more
fat. Drain on paper towels and dry in the dehydrator. Works well.
