I thawed out a carton of Plum Tomato and Basil soup, but then made
other plans. Can I refreeze it safely? If not, why not?

Thanks

Will.

What was the max high temp it reached and for how long? Thawed and sat on
the kitchen counter for several hours vs thawed and sat in the fridge would
are worlds apart in the *safety* side of the equation, depending on the
ingredients in the soup...(is it a cream based soup with dairy products or
just a tomato puree type?)

If it falls in the latter category of both questions above it should be fine
to refreeze. If the former, you might want to reconsider.

I think it just went into the fridge so not above 4deg, I think. Has
no dairy in - just tomato, basil, olive oil etc. I feel safe now, I
think.

Thanks

Will.
