Does anyone use a pressure cooker for pickles? I'm wondering because
the booklet that came with my pressure cooker says to use a water-bath
canner.
I'm thinking I should just use the pressure cooker without the seal so
I can just gently boil the jars instead. Let me know, I really want
to try canning soon as I've got enough jars to easily fill my
cupboard. :) Now I just need to find things to preserve other than
pickles.

I can't find the post (another discussion) where I quoted the directions
from a canning book. In summary, you fill the canner with hot water up
to the shoulders of the jars. Attach the canner lid with the gasket but
do not close the petcock or put on the weighted jiggler. Start timing
when steam pours out the vent.
