Can you freeze cantaloupe without losing a lot of the quality? My
mother is in a nursing home and this is the only thing we have found
that she will eat. 'Trying to find an alternative route for when they
are not in season.

Thanks.

Hi,

I sliced the cantaloupe and froze it like that.
It does get soft when defrosted but is
delicious and eatable when still frozen.
Enjoy!

Our Costco sells frozen melon in the frozen section of the store.
It's honeydew and canteloupe from what I can remember. We tried
it once and it wasn't "great" but might be an alternative this
winter if you have a Costco or Sam's (or even maybe a regular
grocery store nearby) if you don't want to or can't freeze your
own.

I think the thing to do is not to defrost it all the way to
avoid turning it to mush. I remember reading that somewhere.
