how to preserve chives

I was wanting to know if any one can tell me a good way to preserve chives.

We snip them up, put them in small zip-lock bags, evacuate as much air
as possible and then freeze them. Works well enough for us over the
winter months when fresh are not available.

When they blossom, you can make chive blossom vinegar. Put blossoms in
bottle ( narrow neck type works best for vinegar. I think I use glass pint
milk bottles or old vinegar bottles) Heat vinegar to boiling and pour in
over blossoms. Cap ( this is not sealing, use a cork or screw on cap). Put
in cool, dark place for a couple of weeks. Usable after that time.

Chop and dry them (either in a dehydrator or spread out on paper toweling
on the kitchen counter), then store in a jar; or chop and freeze on a flat
tray and when frozen, transfer to a heavy plastic bag and seal.
