Hello,

I am wondering if someone can help me. I made a batch of apple jelly this
week and I'd contemplated putting a slice of apple into the jar, more for
looks than anything. I didn't because I wasn't sure if the apple would
brown and rot, ruining the jelly. Yesterday, I bought some "Fruit Fresh"
and I'm wondering if I treated the apple slices in this stuff first, if it'd
be ok to then put the apple slice into the jelly. Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

If you dip the apple slice in fruit fresh then add to the jelly you may end
up with jelly that doesn't set.

People used to add a rose geranium leaf of mint leaf to scent the jelly.
I've never tried this.
